On Being a Dentist

My days are filled with fascinating conversations with wonderful people. Because I provide dental care to a diverse population, and each patient has a different background and passions, I am constantly learning from my patients. It’s a pleasure to get to know and build long-term relationships with each person, as we work together to get patients’ mouth to optimal condition and their smile looking its best.

For me, being a dentist is about helping people. When I’m able to move people out of dental pain or discomfort, their life is better as a result. When I restore patients’ ability to chew comfortably, they enjoy eating and their body is healthier. And when I improve patients’ smile, they feel better about their appearance and are happier.

What’s most rewarding, though, is when I’m able to help a person with dental anxiety learn to move through their fear. By practicing painless dental care, and offering services such as laser and sedation dentistry, I’m able to ensure a patient feels no physical discomfort during a procedure.

Education and Continuing Education

My Doctorate of Dental Surgery was awarded by the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. In addition to my university education, I regularly seek out continuing education (CE) opportunities. By staying current on developments in oral healthcare, such as new technologies and changes in treatment processes, I’m able to ensure my patients receive the highest quality care possible.

Some of the CE courses I’ve taken have included:

  • Pediatric dentistry
  • Cosmetic dentistry
  • Laser dentistry
  • Dental implants
  • Invisalign®
  • Periodontal care
  • Treating sleep apnea
  • TMJ-TMD treatment

Professional Memberships

  • American Dental Association
  • California Dental Association
  • San Fernando Valley Dental Society

Personal Life

I am a southern California native, having grown up in Northridge and settled in Saugus more than 12 years ago. When I’m not in the office, I’m often spending time with my family, including my three sons and my daughter. I take the kids to the park, soccer and basketball practice, ballet and dance class, and other extracurricular activities.
