Front Teeth

Before the introduction of implants, missing front teeth had to be replaced by either fixed bridgework cemented onto the teeth, or partial dentures; which clip onto the teeth, exert pressure on the gum tissues, and trap food particles. For many people who are missing most of their front teeth, partial dentures were the only choice before the advent of implant technology.



When replacing front teeth, specially designed narrow implants can be placed, utilizing the same gentle surgical techniques.

Creating new, natural, front teeth for a person who has had an accident, or has been living with a partial denture or even a conventional bridge, is one of the most rewarding reconstructions in dentistry.



Your final reconstruction gives you new, natural teeth that feel as solid as your own.

 Implant care solves these problems by providing you with natural, fixed replacement teeth; eliminating the need for a partial denture and sparing neighboring teeth from being "ground down" to receive bridge anchor crowns. In the case of replacing a partial denture, you also eliminate the partial denture's plastic flange, which typically presses into the tissues underneath and inside the lip. Furthermore, you do not need to place as many implants as there are teeth missing. In many crown and bridge cases, you need only one implant for every 2 teeth. In fact, when supporting a denture, you may need as few as 2 for an entire jaw.



Once the implants have integrated (bonded) to your bone tissue, connectors, or "abutments" are attached to the implants, and your final bridgework is attached.

In fact, before implants, there was virtually no way you could avoid having a partial if your were unfortunate enough to not have any surviving back teeth on one or both sides of your upper or lower jaw.

When replacing back teeth, wider implants are usually placed utilizing the same gentle surgical techniques.

Implant care solves these problems by providing you with natural, fixed replacement teeth; eliminating the need for a partial denture and sparing neighboring teeth from being "ground down" to receive bridge anchor crowns. In our office, this is the type of implant care we find ourselves providing most frequently. Our patients report a major improvement in comfort, convenience, and "chew-ability"; especially those who used to have clip-on partial dentures.
